Malaysia in Pictures

We thought you might enjoy some pictures of Kuala Lumpur and Pengang...

Patronas Twin Towers
One of the "must see" sights in KL is the Patronas Twin Towers, which used to be the world's tallest buildings (but still retain the right of tallest twin towers in the world). The skybridge that connects between the towers is located on the 41st and 42nd floors, which is apparently the highest 2-story bridge in the world. In order to ride up to the skybridge, you have to get in line early in the morning (as in before 8am) to get a ticket for later that day. Unfortunately, we did not get up early enough to get tickets -- but the views of the towers from the ground were pretty awesome, and you can see the towers above the skyline from pretty much anywhere in the city. Below are three pictures of the towers: (1) From about a block away from the towers; (2) From the backside of the towers. Note how little Andy is compared to the towers (also, the short building behind him at the base of the towers is probably about 6 stories high); (3) Andy's attempt at creating an artistic photo of the towers.

Flora and Fauna

Another tourist attraction in KL is the Orchid Garden, where we saw the thousands of orchids in bloom. For those garden-lovers, you definitely need to come here. Below are pictures from the garden: (1) Multiple orchids on display; (2) Upclose orchid; (3) Andy's artistic and well-timed capture of of a dragonfly; (4) Katherine's attempt at creating an artistic photo.

Penang

Penang is a lush island with tons of opportunity for enjoying the natural beauty of Malaysia. Below are pictures of: (1) A sea-view from atop Penang Hill; (2) Sea-view from near our hotel of the mainland in the distance before sunset.

Hope you enjoyed the photos!
